Have you ever heard of a “power pose”? Coined by American psychologist and motivational speaker Amy Cuddy, a power pose is an open, strong stance that has been linked to greater self-confidence. The idea is that holding a powerful stance for even just two minutes makes you feel powerful. Other people also respond to this display of confidence, reinforcing a more self-assured perception of yourself. There are a number of power poses you can try, including:

The Wonder Woman: Place your hands on your hips and stand with your feet hip-width apart.

The CEO: When sitting, rest one arm on the back of your chair and recline slightly, keeping your knees apart.

The Performer: Stand with your feet slightly apart and hold your arms above your head in a “V” shape.

The Loomer: When standing at a table, plant your hands on the table surface and lean forward.
